Details, Itinerary

With the endless Atlantic Ocean as your constant companion, discover the real Gran Canaria on a full-day journey around the island.
From dramatic cliffs and volcanic coastlines to authentic Canarian villages and breathtaking viewpoints, every stop reveals a different side of Gran Canaria. Along the way, you’ll experience the island’s changing landscapes, local traditions and hidden corners that many visitors never get to see.

Rather than taking the fastest roads, we choose the most scenic ones whenever possible, making the journey itself just as memorable as the destinations. Expect plenty of photo opportunities, fascinating stories and relaxed stops to truly enjoy each location.

During the tour, we invite you to a cozy alfresco picnic where you can enjoy authentic Canarian tapas and local specialties.

If you follow a special diet or have food allergies, we recommend bringing any additional food items that meet your dietary needs, as we may not be able to accommodate all requirements during the outdoor picnic.

Most of the walking on this tour is easy and takes place on paved streets and walkways. Along the coast, the weather can sometimes be windy and feel cooler than expected, especially during the winter months, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or warmer layer.

Every stop reveals a different side of Gran Canaria.

Traditional island heritage

Windmill

Hidden at the bottom of a peaceful valley, surrounded by the mountains, stands a beautifully restored historic windmill. For the local people, it is known as the “Burned Windmill” – a name that reflects its history.
For centuries, the mill played an important role in local life. Unlike many windmills elsewhere, its story is closely connected to one of the Canary Islands’ most important traditional staple foods – one that has been part of local cuisine for generations and is still enjoyed today. During the tour, you’ll discover what it is and why it remains so important.
The site is also home to several giant-sized pieces of traditional kitchen equipment that are sure to make you smile – and have become one of the village’s most photographed attractions.

Nature’s volcanic colours

Colorful Rock Formation

One of Gran Canaria’s most striking natural wonders, this colourful volcanic rock formation takes us back millions of years to the volcanic birth of the island. Its extraordinary colours were created by volcanic minerals, forming a landscape unlike anywhere else on Gran Canaria.
Surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, this unique location is a favourite among hikers, photographers and nature lovers alike.

The island’s untouched coastline

Away from the Tourist Beaches

Hidden between towering cliffs lies a peaceful fishing village where time seems to slow down. Colourful fishing boats gently rock on the crystal-clear Atlantic, while the quiet bay and volcanic coastline offer a completely different side of Gran Canaria.
Away from the crowded tourist beaches, this authentic fishing village has preserved a peaceful way of life. Everyday island life still follows its own rhythm, while the beach has remained beautifully unspoiled. Here, you’ll experience the authentic atmosphere of coastal Gran Canaria – simple, peaceful and untouched by mass tourism.
The most memorable souvenirs aren’t the ones you can buy, but the moments you experience.

Taste the Canarian flavors and vibe

A Unique Canarian Tapas Picnic

To make the experience even more special, we stop for a unique Canarian tapas picnic by the ocean. Local flavours, fresh sea air and the peaceful atmosphere of Gran Canaria’s west coast. This is also a great moment to connect with each other — our tours feel more like travelling with friends than joining large, mass-tourism groups.

Ocean breeze, the sound of the waves, and a small taste of the island — sometimes the simplest moments become the best memories.

Cliffs above the endless Atlantic

Mirador del Balcon Viewpoint

Mirador del Balcón is one of Gran Canaria’s most breathtaking viewpoints, overlooking the island’s rugged west coast, where towering cliffs plunge almost vertically into the deep blue Atlantic. Here, the spectacular coastal scenery speaks for itself.

On clear days, the neighbouring island of Tenerife appears on the horizon, making the panorama feel even more vast and unforgettable. Standing here, with nothing but the endless ocean stretching before you, it’s easy to understand why this is considered one of Gran Canaria’s most iconic viewpoints.

If you enjoy photography, this is one of the best places to capture the dramatic coastline. We’ll gladly show you a few of our favourite photo spots and angles at the viewpoint.

The island’s most scenic coastal road

The Panoramic West Coast Drive

Get ready for the panoramic west coast drive – one of Gran Canaria’s most spectacular coastal routes. Locals simply call this winding section “the road of 365 bends” — and it’s easy to see why. With the Atlantic Ocean on one side and mountains rising 1,000 metres above the coastline on the other, almost every bend reveals a new and unforgettable view.

We’ll make a short stop at one of our favourite panoramic spots along the route.

A little adventure, a lot of scenery.

Where lava meets ocean

Natural Lava Pools

The coastline here is very different from the golden beaches of southern Gran Canaria. Black volcanic rock, dark sand and the Atlantic Ocean create a landscape shaped by the island’s volcanic origins.
After a short walk, we’ll reach the natural lava pools — unique formations created when molten lava reached the shoreline and cooled into solid rock.

Today they are popular places for swimming and relaxing, but that wasn’t their original purpose. During our visit, you’ll discover how these pools were once connected to everyday life in this traditional fishing village.

Waves, boats & tradition

Fishing village

Our walk continues to Puerto de las Nieves, one of Gran Canaria’s most charming fishing villages. Whitewashed houses with blue details, a picturesque harbour and the relaxed pace of local life create an atmosphere that’s hard to resist.
The harbour is famous for its excellent seafood restaurants and authentic Canarian character. It’s the perfect place to stroll along the waterfront, enjoy the sea views and simply soak up the peaceful atmosphere.

Secrets beneath the mountain

Hidden Caves

Near the end of the journey, we leave the ordinary routes behind and enter a unique place that feels almost otherworldly.
This short adventure leads you into a surreal world of ancient rock formations, natural and man-made caves, and dramatic volcanic textures.
Far from the tourist crowds and rarely seen online, this hidden location offers a genuine sense of discovery, making it one of the tour’s most memorable stops.

The walk to the site is short and easy. The cave area adds a light sense of adventure with its uneven volcanic terrain and hidden corners waiting to be explored. Some parts of the caves may not be suitable for everyone due to the naturally rocky terrain.

Panoramic northern views

North Coast Viewpoint

Our final stop takes us to a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the northern coastline of Gran Canaria.
From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the endless blue Atlantic, white ocean waves, small coastal villages stretching along the shore towards the capital and some banana plantations.
Throughout the tour, we also make several spontaneous photo stops at hidden panoramic locations rarely visited by tourists — unmarked places with authentic views that most visitors simply pass by.

Plus many more great views and landmarks along the way.

Relax during the journey back to your hotel, where the tour concludes.
