Details
Itinerary
We’ll meet at the cruise port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria at 9:30 or for the afternoon tour at 14:00. Meeting point is at the port exit (about 2 minutes walk from the gangway of your cruise ship, see the “where we’ll meet” picture below). We’ll wait for you at the stated time.
• We’ll drive on the motorway to Arucas. Visit the imposing neo-Gothic church of San Juan Bautista (usually referred to as “The Arucas cathedral”), take a stroll through the neoclassical streets and enjoy walking in the “Flower park”. Finally a brief walk in the past with a collection of vintage photographs that show how the town was about 100 years ago.
Please note: on the afternoon tour at the time of our visit, the church is closed. A visit inside is not possible.
• After Arucas we continue our route into Gran Canaria’s heartland.
A cruise to Firgas. Here you can admire the water cascading down the stairs of the 30 meter long artificial waterfall. Walk around the old town centre, discover the ceramic benches whose mosaics represent the 21 municipalities on the island, the relief models of the 7 Canary islands and the Church of San Roque. From the viewpoint in the square the north Gran Canaria landscape stretches down to the Atlantic Ocean.
• Our next stop is for a short photo break at a viewpoint, overlooking the capital and the northern part of the island, where you can enjoy the beautiful view from a height of 1000 meters.
• The excursion continues towards Teror. Discover the island’s religious center. Visit the famous Basilica of the “Virgen del Pino” (patron saint of Gran Canaria). Stroll through the romantic and lovely streets with their post-colonial architecture and look at its beautiful balconies carved from Canarian pine.
From Teror we’ll drive back to Las Palmas.
• To conclude our tour we’ll stop in the capital at a viewpoint, overlooking Las Palmas where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the harbor and your cruise ship.
• A short drive back to the harbor, where the morning tour concludes at 15:00, the afternoon tour at 18:30.

During the tour you will have the opportunity to enjoy dining in a cafe or bar, fast food, or if you prefer self catering, a trip to the supermarket.
Dress for the weather! Bring a thin sweater or jacket because, depending on the season, it can be cooler in higher places. Comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, hat and water are recommended.
This tour has been selected specifically for cruise ship passengers taking into account arrival and departure times of the cruise ship.
We don’t mix languages on our tours. Each tour will be in one main language.
