Details
Itinerary
We’ll meet at the cruise port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria at 9:00 o’clock. Meeting point is at the port exit (about 2 minutes walk from the gangway of your cruise ship, see the “where we’ll meet” picture below). We’ll wait for you at the stated time.
• We’ll drive on the motorway to Arucas. Visit the imposing neo-Gothic church of San Juan Bautista (usually referred to as “The Arucas cathedral”), take a stroll through the neoclassical streets and enjoy walking in the “Flower park”. Finally a brief walk in the past with a collection of vintage photographs that show how the town was about 100 years ago.
• After Arucas we continue our route into Gran Canaria’s heartland.
A cruise to Teror. Discover the island’s religious center. Visit the famous Basilica of the “Virgen del Pino” (patron saint of Gran Canaria). Stroll through the romantic and lovely streets with their post-colonial architecture and look at its beautiful balconies carved from Canarian pine.
• Our next stop is for a short photo break at our first viewpoint, overlooking the capital and the northern part of the island, where you can enjoy the beautiful view from a height of 1000 meters.
• The tour continues towards Tejeda. Tejeda is considered one of the most beautiful village in Spain. This place provides an ideal view to the iconic monoliths Roque Nublo and Roque Bentayga, striking symbols of Gran Canaria. If we ask local people in Gran Canaria what there is in Tejeda, they will tell us “almonds”. So we can not miss a visit to the island’s most famous confectionists where you can find a variety of cakes made with almonds.
• Following our drive toward Roque Nublo we will make a stop at our second viewpoint. If we have clear weather we can enjoy here a “little” surprise, the highest peak in Spain.
• Time to take a short break? The best place and option for this is our stop at the picnic area in the pine forest, which is a popular camping and hiking area. We also invite you to taste one of Gran Canaria’s exotic wild fruits.
• The Roque Nublo is Gran Canaria’s biggest symbol, a huge basalt rock monolith almost 70 meters high which arose as a result of volcanic activity and erosion.
On this tour we DO NOT walk up to the top! Spending 20-30 minutes here and with a little walk you can enjoy the beautiful landscape and view, close to the highest point of the island.
• The excursion continues to Fataga. This particular little village nestles in the valley of the thousand palms, in a picturesque setting of tall cliffs, palms and fruit trees. Enjoy a little walk between the charming rural houses!
• Finally we arrive at our third viewpoint from which you can see different views: the impressive central mountains of the island and the landscape of the Maspalomas Dunes and the Atlantic Ocean as background.
After this viewpoint we’ll drive on the motorway to Las Palmas.
• To conclude our tour we’ll stop in the capital at a viewpoint, overlooking Las Palmas where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the harbor and your cruise ship.
• A short drive back to the harbor, where the tour concludes at 17:00.

During the tour you will have the opportunity to enjoy dining in a cafe or bar, fast food, or if you prefer self catering, a trip to the supermarket.
Dress for the weather! Bring a thin sweater or jacket because, depending on the season, it can be cooler in higher places. Comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, hat and water are recommended.
This tour has been designed specifically for cruise ship passengers taking into account arrival and departure times of the cruise ship.
We don’t mix languages on our tours. Each tour will be in one main language.
